Job Title: Activity Counselor, New Heights, Catholic Charities, Danbury

There is an opening for an Activity Counselor for Catholic Charities' New Heights in Danbury.

Catholic Charities' New Heights program, serving adults with mental illness, has a part time opportunity as an Activity Counselor.  Responsibilities include coordinating and facilitating social activities and groups with our clients.  Must be willing to work evenings and weekends. High school diploma with a minimum of one year experience and must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance

Location: New Heights, 66 West Street, Danbury

Brief summary of duties: . 

  • Coordinates and participates in program activities with program members, including activities involving the transportation of program members.
  • Actively engages clients in program activities.
  • Provides general program coverage, including answering phones

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year prior related experience

Job Title: Part-time Claims Clerk, Catholic Charities, Norwalk

There is an opening for a Part-time Claims Clerk for Catholic Charities in Norwalk.

Hours and Days: Part-time, 16 hours per week.

Location: Catholic Charities, Norwalk

Brief summary of duties: Provide clerical support to Insurance Claims Analyst. Assists the Insurance Claim Analyst in the organization and preparation of quality reports relative to ongoing claim activity. Accountabilities:

  • Inspects claims in preparation for mailing.
  • Organizes daily activity sheets and deposit information.
  • Scans/labels client insurance information and related correspondence.
  • Uses Excel spreadsheets to summarize benefit payments and to prepare clinical statistical reports.
  • Obtains outstanding clinical information required for processing.
  • Monitors and maintains all supplies relating to billing process.
  • Organizes, maintains and discards, as necessary, file data on server.
  • Prepares ad hoc files/reports from existing client information, as requested.

Minimum requirements (skills, education, years of experience, licenses, etc.):

  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and the ability to train for and use support software.

Job Title: Manager of Advancement for Stamford Catholic Schools

There is an opening for a Manager of Advancement for Stamford Catholic Schools in Bridgeport, reporting to the Director of Development and Communications in the Diocesan Office of Education.

Hours and Days: 20 hours a week @ $25 per hour (up to $26,000 annually).

Location: At a board designated school in Stamford and must be willing to commute to Catholic Center in Bridgeport approximately 1 day a week for training and guidance.

Brief summary of duties: The Manager of Advancement for Stamford Catholic Schools will be responsible for coordinating fundraising initiatives for the 3 Elementary schools and the Middle School in Stamford, CT. The Manager of Advancement will be responsible for meeting a fundraising goal designated by the board and will meet that goal by conducting an Annual Fund at all 4 schools, coordinating fundraising events, and grant writing for designated projects. The candidate will also be responsible for managing, cultivating and marketing to past Alumni of the school who will be included in future fundraising campaigns. The candidate will report directly to Office of Education, Director of Development and Communications. The goal of the Manager of Advancement for Stamford Catholic Schools will be to initiate and manage all aspects of the Annual Fund, fundraising events, grant writing and Alumni cultivation. This individual will also work in conjunction with existing HSA groups to make sure they are not in conflict with local HSA fundraising efforts. The ideal candidate is an individual who is a computer savvy, self-starter who is passionate about advancing the mission of Catholic Education. This position would be ideal for a mother of older children currently enrolled in one or more of our Stamford Catholic Schools.

Minimum requirements (skills, education, years of experience, licenses, etc.): Bachelor's Degree; Must have some past project coordination experience. Must be fluent: MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel. Must be comfortable with importing and exporting data as well as and database applications.
